Not everyone is looking for a mobile phone that can do everything short of the dishes. Sometimes an entry level phone is all that is needed and the Nokia 2630 is an excellent choice for someone who does not require or desire all the bells and whistles that comes with higher end products.

The 2630 is what is known as a candy bar style phone. It is one solid piece and only 9.9mm thick, Nokia’s thinnest handset phone available. The phones display is in standard colour and shows items with a 128×160 pixel resolution. The battery has a talk time of 6 hours with a 320 hour standby time. The user can program MP3 ringtones in the phone, but there is no picture identification option. The 2630 has an internal memory of 11MB also, unfortunately the Nokia 2630 does not feature an expansion slot for a memory chip so that 11MB memory will need to suffice.
Nokia’s 2630 includes a camera of 0.3 megapixels. The maximum photo resolution when downloaded onto a computer is 640×480 pixels, not too bad for a small phone of this size. Unfortunately, the Nokia’s 2630 camera does not have any zoom options, auto focus, flash, or recording video. It is designed for quick candid shots in excellent lighting.
The 2630 by Nokia does have messaging options for those users who have this as part of their cell phone plan. Text messaging and multimedia messaging is available as well. This 2630 is not designed to surf the Internet although messages can be sent to programmed e-mails in the contact file.
There is no MP3 player on the Nokia 2630, but it does come standard with an FM radio for those users who wish to be able to listen to music while doing other things. This phone also does not have a video player. It does contain a simple contact management system for up to 1000 entries, calculator, calendar and flashlight. There are also three preloaded games available on the Nokia 2630. Additional ringtones, backgrounds, games and standby screensavers can be downloaded off the Internet that will work with this phone. It is Bluetooth compatible for a hands free experience.
Nokia’s 2630 is packaged with a battery, charger, and headset (this is not a Bluetooth headset). Other accessories are available from Nokia or the user’s closest Nokia dealer. Users should check the phone that they are purchasing as there are differences in some of the options, features, and operating megahertz between Nokia 2630’s available in the United States and Europe.
The 2630 has received some good customer rating. While not the best phone on the market, this phone is very simple in its designs and functions and great for a beginning mobile phone user, such as senior. Due to the lack of options and functions, it’s a good phone to purchase as a back-up to the home phone or for emergency purposes.

The Nokia 2630 Is a nice entry mobile phone but you should not expect more. It does all the basic tasks and does them well.
If your looking for a more modern phone but still basic i would try the nokia 6300 otherwise this phone is great for an emergency mobile. I wasn’t looking for mobile internet or a great camera so this was the best phone for me plus it’s very cheap!
