Nokia 6300 Specifications and 6300 in-depth Review

Nokia’s 6300 phone is a compact phone with stainless-steel covers, a glossy black finish, and rounded edges. It has a 2” QVGA display that shows up to 16.7 million true colours. The phone has the standard contact management system, is capable of text and multimedia messaging, and can be set up for instant messaging. It’s important to note the Nokia 6300 phone can also act as an e-mail client, this really helps for both business and personal use. The 6300 phones internal memory is up to 7.8 MB of storage space and can be expanded with a micro SD card up to 2GB. The personal information organizer includes a contact list, calendar, alarm clock, and other features, including three preloaded games: Sudooku, Soccer 3D, and the Nokia Classic, Snake 3 which prove to be great phone. Additional content can be downloaded from online.

The 6300 by Nokia comes with a 2 megapixel camera that has an 8x digital zoom on it. The viewfinder for the camera is the full 2” screen and it includes a video recorder and player. This phone does not have a dedicated camera key, nor does it allow for the landscape orientation when taking a picture so these should be considered before purchasing the Nokia 6300. The white balance system is good, but there is a large amount of noise in pictures with poor lighting. The lens is not auto-focus, making this camera good for close-up, candid shots that capture the moment.

The music player that comes with the 6300 features very good sound quality when using ear phones. It supports, like most Nokia’s these days the popular MP3 and MP4 formats, has a built-in FM visual radio and can handle streaming video. The user can listen to it with the supplied headset, which gives it a fuller sound, of via the loudspeaker.

Other features of the Nokia 6300 include games and applications, Bluetooth compatible, voice commands and voice recording, MP3, true tone, and MIDI ringtones as well as video ringtones, demo and flight modes. The flight mode seems to be a new standard feature on cell phones. This allows the user to turn off the portion of their phone during an airplane flight that causes problems with the airplane’s systems, but still allow users to play games, update their calendars, and use the music player.

Standard packaging for Nokia’s 6300 includes the battery, charger, headset, CD-ROM and 128 MB micro SD card. Additional accessories are available from Nokia for the 6300 mobile phone. There are a few noted downfalls about the Nokia 6300 phone, one of which is the battery life. When fully charged, the battery is supposed to last approximately 3.5 days. Users have not been getting that much time out of the battery. Another complaint deals with the loudspeaker. When playing music, the Nokia 6300 may crackle the louder you turn it up. If is definitely to be used with the included headset for the best music quality.
